Monitoring Services

In Atlantic Canada, independent industry supported monitoring programs have been used as an essential tool in the management of the commercial fisheries for the last 2 decades.  These programs have been critical in determining the annual stock assessments for quota management and providing important scientific research to better understand all aspects of the industry.

Since the first monitoring pilot programs over 20 years ago, ACD has worked closely with government agencies and fishing industry groups to develop and implement the most beneficial and cost-effective programs possible.  With this experience, ACD has become the leader in commercial fisheries monitoring on the east coast and offer the following monitoring services in Atlantic Canada:

Dockside Monitoring
ACD is the largest and most experienced Dockside Monitoring service provider with over 20 years in the business across all commercial fisheries and regions on the east coast.  We provide independent catch verification, data collection, auditing and reporting services to commercial fishermen and fishing associations.  ACD works very closely with the government regulatory agencies in the development and implementation of new monitoring standards and procedures.

Port Sampling and Grading Services
ACD has been providing Port Sampling and Grading Services for over 15 years across various fisheries and regions on the east coast.  ACD has Marine Biologists and experienced Field Technicians that provide the collection of biophysical samples and assessment functions for government science programs, private industry, fish harvesters and fish processers.

Inspection Services
ACD provides quality inspection, third party auditing and documentation services for private industry on both shipped and received seafood products.
